So after talking to a fellow triathlete over some Starbucks one evening I thought it'd be a good idea to start a blog to reflect on all the up's and down's, highlights and lowlights of everyday triathlon training and racing. Here goes nothing!
This was my first time I've actually felt good throughout the entire race. This was the first time I've done a real warm up before a race and I think it really helped in the long run. The swim was pretty uneventful, this was my first ocean swim so I took it easier not really knowing what to except at the start. Got out of the water in 8th so I was excited to get on my bike and see what I could do being closer to the front. I made it through T1 pretty quick and passed another person in the process. The wind was blowing off the water so there was a slight cross wind for most of the race. I passed two people about 3 miles into the ride and another right before the turnaround. I stayed pretty close in my power window so I felt good and didn't feel like I burned up too many matches in the process.
